Describe what you love about what you do.

I'm a chef by trade, but during the pandemic I started teaching virtual cooking classes. In doing so, I've opened up a bigger audience to share my food and passion for cooking. It's extremely rewarding to see people making my recipes outside of the "classroom" knowing they come back to them again and again. It's the ultimate compliment.

Why in New Orleans?

I grew up in New Orleans East. I just moved back from NYC and this place — the food, the culture — re-energizes me and sparks my creativity. I feel connected to my roots when I'm here.

What about New Orleans inspires you?

Resilience. New Orleans breeds resilient people through all of the hardships the city's experienced, which also helps build a sense of community. No matter how hard we get kicked down, we always bounce back!

Something about New Orleans that can always put you in a good mood.

The smell of sweet olive trees literally stops me in my tracks every time.
