Barracuda is expanding its delicious reach! The popular Uptown taco and margarita haven is opening its second location in the vibrant Algiers Point neighborhood in early June. The new spot is located in the old Gulf station, a central focal point of the community.

"The building and the people made the choice easy," owner Brett Jones told Adore. "Algiers is a quintessential New Orleans neighborhood, we have more and more good friends living here, and it’s a genuinely wonderful place to be...Everyone we meet has a personal connection to or story about the space and has been so enthusiastic about us opening up here. The idea that we can bring some new life to a space people already connect with is important to us and a cool opportunity to be a part of the neighborhood in a unique way."

The restaurant will continue to serve the Sonoran-style flour tortillas, well-sourced ingredients, and draft margaritas with fresh lime juice and good tequila with walk up counter service and extensive shaded and covered patio seating across from Confetti Park. The new spot may offer specials on occasion that are different from the Tchoupitoulas location.

Jones credits the support of the Uptown location over the last year and his incredible team that have stayed on as part of the reason for the new location.

"Our goal is always to make it easy and accessible to get really good tacos and margaritas at a value that allows for anyone to visit as frequently as they like. Beyond that, Algiers is growing and changing, and we hope to fit in seamlessly to the fabric of this already vibrant neighborhood while providing a service that improves the options for our neighbors."

Barracuda will open on Thursday, June 3.

The new Barracuda is located at 446 Pelican Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70114.
