Wedding cake is the centerpiece of any reception and as such plays a starring role. With a desire to make the day more personal and interactive, brides are gravitating towards stunning cake tables with multiple layers of scrumptious goodness, or to one masterpiece that fully realizes the newly wedded couple's style and sensibility. Two talented local bakers bring passion, expertise, and superior ingredients to their exceptional confections. The focus is on the flavor. Creative and less traditional offerings and custom-designed artisan cakes allow the bride to treat her guests to something truly special.

One of Beth's many specialties is the au courant wedding cake table–an assortment of smaller cakes, tarts, and custom sugar cookies–presented in a relaxed and uber-sophisticated way. Her beautiful textures and fresh flavor combinations are as delicious as they are entertaining. With simple, elegant designs and an emphasis on personalized details (she'll even make custom cookie cutters), Beth elevates the cake tasting to all new heights. And by the way, her sour cream cake with Louisiana strawberries and cream cheese buttercream frosting had me at the first cream.

Chocolatier, Cheryl Scripter, is at the helm of the beloved sweets shop on Magazine Street. With the finest of chocolate, locally produced dairy products, and farm fresh ingredients, her handcrafted works of art are known for impeccable beauty and mouth-watering flavor. Each cake celebrates the spirit of the bride and groom with exquisite details of flowers, ribbons, and custom decorations. It's her mission to bring all the excitement of the day to the wedding by way of dessert. And her cupcakes, truffles, and almond florentines make lovely wedding favors.
