Date nights have many forms: first date, a "just because" date, an anniversary, or even a friend date! Switch things up from your go-to restaurant or bar and try something new in New Orleans. From dressing up and attending a hypnotizing orchestra concert to bonding over food you've prepared together (with help from the professionals, of course), here are 4 unique date nights to experience in the city this fall.
Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra
Upgrade your typical concert date to a dressier night at the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. Shows are held at both Uptown and Downtown theaters; book an early dinner reservation and make plans for a post-concert nightcap. This September, attendees can enjoy the sounds of Beethoven's "Emperor" and Mahler Five and the magical songs from the Harry Potter movies. If you and your date fall between the ages of 21 and 40, make note of the Prelude subscription series. Aimed at young professionals, Prelude members receive a 5 concert subscription package as well as access to social gatherings.
NOCHI Enthusiast Courses
If your typical date night includes dining out, why not change things up with a class at NOCHI? Their Enthusiast Courses are led by chefs and local personalities, and cover a variety of cuisines (we're eyeing the Fundamentals of Pasta class...). Hands-on classes, which cap at 16 people, include preparing a full meal with close instruction, then enjoying the meal over wine. Demonstration classes, which host up to 25 people, include everything from a tasting to a lecture. Foodies of all types are sure to enjoy this unique and tasty date.
From pizza parties to concerts, Paradigm Gardens has your date night covered. The venue is located in the heart of the city and is offering two Concert Series and two Pizza and Pies nights planned. Their Pizza & Pies series brings together amazing pizza by Ancora Pizzeria, guest chefs from restaurants like Domenica and Atchafalaya, and delectable pies to one space, accompanied by a DJ. Whether it's a first date or you're celebrating an anniversary, the Garden is an ideal spot to spend the evening.
