Traveling in a large group, whether for a bachelorette or a family vacation, can be taxing. Multiple hotel rooms divide the party and staying in an Airbnb that doesn't have enough beds is its own form of torture. Domio, a technology hospitality company, is aiming to change group travel with their luxury apartment hotels. Currently situated in 8 cities, Domio offers spacious units (5 times the size of the average hotel room) and charges about 25% less than comparable hotel rooms. New Orleans visitors can now experience the modern units with the recent addition of Domio Baronne Street.
The Warehouse District building features units averaging over 1,500 square feet and sleeping up to 16 people. Equipped with a premier fitness center, rooftop pool, and 24-hour concierge alongside in-room amenities, Domio's facilities are truly a homey haven.
“We wanted to combine the comforts of a home and the confidence of a hotel, with spacious layouts and high-end services," says Olivia Hnatyshin, Domio's head of branding and design. "We provide our guests with the seamless experience that a hotel provides with turn down service, luxurious amenities, pool access, and stocked fridges...but also make the experience feel like their own home with large spaces designed for comfort. It was important for us to provide our guests with the best of home and hotel."
Rooms are lined with one-of-a-kind prints and wallpapers (which are available for purchase through Domio's partnership with Society6) and a quality night's sleep is ensured with Casper mattresses. The kitchen is equipped with every tool and appliance guests might require and for those quieter nights, complimentary in-house movies are at the ready.
Domio also provides access to its guest experience team. Perfect for those who aren't familiar with the city or open to something different, the trip planners can recommend activities around the clock. The Baronne Street location is situated close to the French Quarter and its revelry, as well as museums, antique stores, and famed restaurants.
Jay Roberts, the CEO and co-founder of Domio, says that traditional group travel landscape lacks consistency, reliability, and trust. "This space has been traditionally under-served, so we are hoping to bridge that gap by making the experience as seamless as possible. We wanted to address the desire for elevated group travel, with curated end-to-end experiences, more space, and affordable rates for groups of all sizes to enjoy."
Rates start around $149-199 per night.
