Looking to add a little variety to your schedule (or lack thereof) this week? Below, three local events you can tune into for free!
If you're finally ready to tackle your goal or resolution of learning a new language, the Alliance Française is here to help. On Wednesday, April 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., join the organization's virtual open house from your couch. Learn about the online classes being offered, meet the teachers, and learn about additional (and numerous) virtual events that will be happening during this social distancing period. Attendees are in for a treat: special prices on classes will be offered during the hours of the open house. Not sure which level to sign up for? Their online placement test will help determine.
Join Garden District Book Shop and author and actor Laura Cayouette for conversation and cocktails on Facebook Live. The virtual event begins at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, and will cover books, New Orleans, movies, and anything else that comes up in conversation. Tune in with your beverage of choice!
While Hancock Whitney Zoo-To-Do has moved to September, you can still experience Audubon Zoo's Zoo-To-Do through social media on Friday, April 24. A Facebook Live will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by an Instagram Live at 6 p.m. with DJ Jared Sampson. "Viewers are encouraged to throw on their dancing shoes, order dinner from one of their favorite Zoo-To-Do restaurants, and create their own Zoo-To-Do dance party at home!"
