A few things that have caught our eye...


Last year, Kaitlin Guerin started stress-baking for family and friends during the pandemic and turned her hobby into Lagniappe Baking Co. The pastry chef offers boxes of treats, each made with quality, local ingredients and hopes to curate memorable and lasting food experiences for years to come.

The Front Porch Project began during the pandemic to document the lives of the city's resilient residents. From Metairie to the Marigny, over 1,000 families took porch-traits in exchange for supporting a local business in need. The photographers compiled the photos into a beautiful book, which will be available for purchase in April.

Lace up your shoes for the Allstate Sugar Bowl Crescent City Classic 10k. The annual event will take place virtually during the first weekend of April, and participants can complete the race on the official course or on their own — even on the treadmill!

Craving comfort food? Head to Buttermilk (formerly Emmylou's) for simple, delicious, and flavorful dishes by owner and barbecue pitmaster Shannon Bingham. The new concept opened earlier this month in St. Roch Market and will serve breakfast, sandwiches, salad, and snacks, as well as fried chicken fingers.
