While we're still recovering from our Thanksgiving feasts, we can't help but look forward to a month of indulgence. From holiday libations to festive gatherings, there is plenty to experience in New Orleans this December. Below, a preview of the can't miss happenings around town.

Claret Wine & Cocktail Bar

Start the month off with a holiday wine and cocktail tasting party at Claret (1320 Magazine Street). On Thursday, December 5 from 6 to 8 p.m., guests will be able to taste over 40 wines and craft cocktails that are paired with light bites. The courtyard now boasts patio heaters and the inside is still as smart as ever. Tickets for the event can be ordered here.

Josephine Estelle

Ace Hotel's Southern-inspired eatery is offering a special edition of their annual Feast of the Seven Fishes. In honor of the hotel's 20th anniversary, Josephine Estelle is bringing Ace Hotel chefs from across the country together to collaborate on the impressive meal. Courses include octopus, oyster stew, and savory clams. The event takes place Tuesday, December 10 with a cocktail hour starting at 6 p.m. and dinner beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets are $125 and each of the five courses includes a wine pairing. This hotel is offering holiday fun for all ages. Throughout New Year's Day, Loews New Orleans is offering The Legend of Papa Noël, a spiked drink made with the hotel's specialty in-house hot chocolate, Patron Café, Baileys Irish Cream, and whipped cream and chocolate sauce to top it of. With the purchase of the adult beverage, kids can enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate. Loews is offering a special holiday package for anyone visiting or in need of a staycation.

Longway Tavern

The French Quarter spot has been transformed for the holidays. Longway Tavern presents the Miracle Bar, which is open until December 31st and sports holiday decor and specialty beverages. The Christmas-themed bar will be open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to close, and on Friday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to close.

The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans

If you follow us on Instagram, you already know all about the Ritz-Carlton's gingerbread streetcar. The hotel is hosting several events throughout the month including Holidate, a gingerbread making event for adults only. Taking place on December 6 from 6 to 8 p.m., guests will decorate a house over a bottle of wine and an artisan cheese plate. On select days in December (1, 7-8, 14-24), the Davenport Lounge is hosting a special holiday celebration featuring an appearance by Papa Noel. Can't make one of the big events?
