Adore's new series will follow the typical morning routine of a New Orleans mover and shaker.
When Taylor Moore initially moved to New Orleans, she had dreams of being a doctor. Baking was always a hobby of hers and with the encouragement of her family, she decided to turn the pastime into her full time job. Moore established Grey Bird Baking Company in early 2019. Fast forward to October 2019 and the entrepreneur is selling her desserts in Pythian Market, Drink Beauty, and One Stone, and she's established a subscription service for serious sugar feins. She's grown from creating her macarons and cakes at home to an industrial kitchen, and aims to have a storefront in the coming years.
To see how the one-woman show does it all, read her morning routine below!
3:00 a.m. (or some other random time early in the morning) I'm awake. I am a self-proclaimed night owl and will pop up at odd hours of the night despite having early hours for Grey Bird Baking Co. By this time, I am most likely responding to emails while watching reruns of Grownish, Golden Girls, or Top Chef - some of my favorite shows to binge-watch right now!
4:45 a.m. My actual alarm goes off. I am not a morning person so playing my Grey Bird playlist on Spotify always puts a pep in my step! That playlist consists of a few of my favorite artists: Beyoncé, Drake, and Rihanna and consist of classics like "Let Me Blow Your Mind" by Eve featuring Gwen Stefani.
5:00 a.m. With teeth brushed, face washed, and hair thrown into a messy bun/pineapple (Is it wash day?), I meditate and head to the gym.
5:30 a.m. I’m standing on the treadmill at my gym, Planet Fitness. Depending on my diet and whether or not I have slipped on my exercise routine for the week, my daily two miles and core exercises may or may not be as refreshing as I would like.
6:45-7:00 a.m. I am returning home from the gym. At this point, my family group chat, which consists of 10 people, probably has 20 messages and memes that will give me a good dose of laughter for the day. We all live in different cities, so this keeps everyone connected and up to date with any news!
7:05 a.m. Looks at calendar and glances at closet repeatedly while talking to my mother on the phone. We are most likely chatting about any Grey Bird updates or her conference call schedule for the day. At some point, I do concentrate and decide on what to wear depending on my schedule.
9:00 a.m. I am wrapping up breakfast with my boyfriend. By now, I would have made a few calls, responded to a few more emails, and created my first post for the @greybirdbakingco Instagram account.
11:00 a.m. I am opening my booth at Pythian Market, ready to brighten people’s day with dessert!
