Give back this weekend with Sideline Pass during the organization's drive-thru food drive. The event will take place Sunday, March 28 in Metairie, Uptown, Mandeville, and Harvey and will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.
Donors can drive up to the event and volunteers (wearing masks and gloves) will remove all donations from the trunk, offering a completely contactless and safe experience.
Diamonds Direct offered up their location as one of the four food drive drop-off destination from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and encourages the community to contact neighbors and ask them to leave a bag of donations on their porch. One neighbor can bring all of the donations to the drive-thru and drop them off for your neighborhood.
General Manager Kyle Rising-Moore had this to say about the upcoming food drive: "Helping the New Orleans community in a time of great need is something I value most. Having moved to New Orleans during the start of the pandemic from Miami, Florida, I had no knowledge of how or where to give back to my new community. It is an honor to volunteer and collect food for local New Orleanians who will appreciate the helping hand. Over the past year, I have found that when people are in need, strangers somehow become family. The people of New Orleans have been so helpful and selfless during this strange adjustment, and I could not be more excited to offer a space where we can safely collect food for a community in need."
