While Mardi Gras season has already begun, the Second Annual Sequin Secondline is here to really get things moving. The sparkly get together takes place Saturday, January 18 and is open to the public.

When Kelsey Campion, the founder of the eccentric clothing brand Fringe+Co., planned the first Sequin Secondline in 2019, it was to celebrate the city of New Orleans and the people that have supported her company. "I wanted a fun and sparkly way to kick off the Mardi Gras season and to gather really fun people together," she told Adore. "I pulled the first one off in a month and immediately started getting messages the day after about "year two," so I knew it had to be an annual event."

Last year's event had over 300 attendees show up in sequins and Campion expects even more sparkles this weekend. With an added VIP hour and plenty of hype, New Orleans is sure to be dazzling.

The day begins with an exclusive cocktail hour at Molly's at the Market from 1 to 2 p.m. Tickets include a gift bag featuring over $100 of goodies (including a Fringe+Co. Mardi Gras headwrap, glitter from Elektra Cosmetics, and more), unlimited libations, a private drag performance, a photo wall, early access to shop the brand new Mardi Gras gear, and plenty of surprises.

"I wanted to create a little something special for those sparkly humans who wanted a little more out of the experience, but I always want the event to be free and open to whoever wants to attend."

Following the VIP hour, the Sequin Party begins and the Sequin Secondline rolls from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Plan to stick around for the afterparty, which lasts until 6 p.m.

The Sequin Secondline also serves as a launch party for Fringe+Co.'s new Mardi Gras items that will be released Sunday, January 19. It will be available for purchase online and at pop-ups throughout January and February.
