Spice up your festivities this season with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the 610 Stompers. Together, they present their annual Holiday Spectacular at the Mahalia Jackson Theater on Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 p.m.
During "A Stomper Christmas Carol," the LPO and the 610 Stompers take on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future as they help out their lead Stomper, Slabeneezer Scrooge, find his long lost love for dance.
"A mix of holiday favorites and classics are being performed this year," Leah Oby of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra told Adore. "We give these holiday favorites a New Orleans twist...[at] this year's show, we'll be referencing our bitter rivalry with the Atlanta Falcons."
The very first Holiday Spectacular happened in 2015 and the 610 Stompers have been a part of the performance from the very beginning. This year's show will feature local guest artists Arsène Delay, Roots of Music, and the Lusher Charter School choirs, with special appearances by Santa. The show spans two hours (including a 20-minute intermission) and festive attire is strongly encouraged.
