This year, the New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA) is celebrating 50 years since its formation in 1969. To kickoff their milestone season, NOBA presents the award-winning Trinity Irish Dance Company (TIDC) this Saturday, October 19th. The renowned dance company is kicking off its own season in Nola with a new show, before going on to tour the world. It is TIDC's first performance in the city since 2002 and will be held at Mahalia Jackson Theater.

Guests can expect a spellbinding show by the trailblazing company's 16 champion dancers and their band. (Chicago Tribune calls them the "real deal.") A press release states: Between dances, three musical sets by the TIDC Band fill the stage with both traditional and original Irish music, featuring guitar, voice, bass, drums, fiddle and the Irish bodhran drum.

A pre-performance talk with artistic director Mark Howard will begin at 7:15 p.m. and the show will start at 8 p.m. The TIDC artists will also conduct a master class for the Irish dance community from 7-8 p.m. This class is open to ages 12 and up, beginner to champion level Irish dance students.

Tickets start at $35 and are available for purchase here. Can't make the big performance? NOBA has other opportunities in late 2019 and early 2020.
